Management

Mr. Mohamed Jabir is a senior manager who served for several private and public companies for the past 15 years. He has education background in business administration and social studies. Initially he started his career as a teacher and executive of certain primary schools in Mogadishu. Before he joined the private sector, he used to serve for the Somali Business Society in South Sudan. Mohamed Jabir is currently serving as the Director of Somali Technical Training Institute (SOTTI), covering wide range of responsibilities including overseeing day-to-day activities, improving performance, developing educational policy, directing organizational strategy and activities, in addition, supervising of all activities within the institution, and also sharing progress reports with the Board of Directors.

Eng Hassan is a dedicated electrical engineering graduate with a strong connection to engineering, technology, and innovation. Currently serving as an Academic Assistant at Somali Technical Training Institutte (SOTTI). Eng. Hassan is working closely with the schools and departments and provides mentoring and coaching. Also he works with the Director, and the administrative staff to meet with parents, students, and teachers, to address any concerns regarding academic progress. He also oversees academic planning, academic program review, and curriculum development and provides leadership in creating and maintaining academic standards and policies The Academic Assistant is playing different roles including working as Dean of Students who connects the students and parents with the management and resolves any outstanding issues.

Mustafa Artan possesses a background of Administration. He is currently serving as the Deputy Director of Administrative and Finance at Somali Technical Training Institute (SOTTI), Prior to this role, he served several private companies in which he improved his skills in human resources management, administrative and finance management across various institutions, accumulating over four years of experience. The Deputy Director for Admin and Finance serves as a strategic advisor to the director and recommends financial objectives, policies, programs and practices that ensure a sound financial structure for the University. Mr. Mustafa in support of the mission and goals of SOTTI oversees the development of policies, programs and practices that will ensure a sound administrative structure, and is responsible for developing a long-term sustainable economic model, which ensures the viability of the Institute.

Siham is a young lady who is a social activist with a background of social science and education that led her to be equipped with a strong foundation in Education, theories, and practices., since her graduation she served for different educational institutions including primary education and also certain schools for special needs. Due to her background a social activist she used to Advocate for youth empowerment and positive change. Understanding social issues and their impact on individuals and communities to be addressed their needs by government and community level. She is currently serving as Public Relations Director at Somali Technical Training Institute (SOTTI), that she has a huge passion for it, leveraging her strong communication and interpersonal skills to advocate for youth education, build brand awareness, manage reputation, and cultivate positive relationships.

Eng. Nuradin, is a mechanical engineer and has TVET background. He served for several private companies in his field. He is currently serving as the Deputy Director of Academics at Somali Technical Training Institute (SOTTI), he advises and assists the Director of SOTTI and provides leadership to the academic and academic-related units of the Institute. Eng Nuradin, also oversees academic planning, academic program review, and curriculum development and also he supervises the Deans of the three schools of SOTTI and the Dean of Registration and Admission, evaluating and approving their recommendations for the institute hiring, promotion, and tenure.

Vernon Lowe first joined the University in 2006 as Assistant Dean for Academic Support Programs. He served as Assistant Dean until 2013, when he became a full time lecturer at the College. He teaches classes relating to legal theory and reasoning, race and law, gender and law, and in the area of commercial transactions.

Assistant Vice President for Communications

After graduating from Kempbelle University with a MA in Communications, Harriet Erickson served as the director of Freshman and Transfer Programs before becoming the Vice President for Student Affairs. Holding both a BA and MA degree in Communications from Kempbelle University, Harriet Erikson has spent much of her professional life at the College.

Wesley Clark was named Senior Advisor to the President in May 2018. An expert in corporate law, he teaches a wide range of courses including Contracts, Sales, Closely Held Business Organizations, Publicly Traded Corporations, Mergers & Acquisitions, International Law and International Securities Regulation.

Senior Advisor to the President

Betty Bowman joined the faculty in 2002, and received tenure there in 2007. Before joining the faculty, she was a visiting assistant professor at Syracuse University College of Law. Prior to that, she was a legal consultant with JPMorgan Chase; a contract attorney for Cravath, Swaine & Moore; and an assistant prosecutor for the Ministry of the Attorney General in Toronto, Canada.

Acting Vice President for Finance

With over four decades of law teaching experience, Johnny Jones is a nationally-recognized constitutionalist who has received numerous awards for his teaching, including the first-ever Pioneer Award for his commitment and dedication to students from the FIU Student Bar Association in 2004. Since then, students have voted him “Professor of the Year” multiple times.

Dean, Diversity and Compliance

Dennis Ruiz was a member of the faculty at Texas Tech University School of Law, where she held the Alvin R. Allison Distinguished Professorship and received every teaching award the law school and the University conferred. She was the Distinguished Fulbright Professor of American Constitutional Law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Greece in 1992.
