Chairman, Board of Directors

I am pleased to serve as the chairman of Somali Technical Training Institute (SOTTI) Board of Directors. I, together with my fellow Board members are aware of, and committed to, our responsibilities and duties as Board members to do whatever is in the best interest of the University. Provided that the Board is still in many ways adjusting to the challenges of directing and controlling the affairs of Technical Vocational Education (TVET) in the process of transitioning from an idea of relying on foreign workforce to well skilled local man-power.

 

I am honoured to lead SOTTI during this historic time, and excited to see where we go next. With the support of all members of ourSOTTI family, there is nothing we can’t achieve as we struggle to serveour students, community, and our country of Somalia.

As we celebrate significant advances in keeping SOTTI education affordable and accessible for students and their families, we are also excited about the future for our recently established companies that will serve as a field of training and apprenticeship as well as an income generating activities.

As TVET institute, SOTTI is committed to make sure to be where theory meets practice. SOTTI, being a pioneer institution in vocational and technical training, we inspire, motivate, and empower our students to become excellent and caring specialized and trained educators, skilled professionals, entrepreneurs, and business leaders for the public and private sector.

We believe that the opportunity for skill development should be available to all who seek it, and we will continue to meet the on-going challenges that higher education presents in the years ahead. Students who are seeking a quality education with a worldview can certainly find a home at SOTTI. 

Students at SOTTI can look forward to stimulating, productive, and rewarding learning experiences that will equip them for lifelong learning andresponsibility as global citizens.
